Some members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) are demanding of party leadership to involve ex-President Jerry John Rawlings in a nationwide tour they are embarking on to assess government performance.
The National Executives of the party are on a tour to interact with party members and to brief grassroots supporters on government programmes and policies.
But the exclusion of the party’s founder in this activity has not gone down well with some supporters.
A member of NDC’s communications team in Tamale, Mr Prince Bansah, thinks the programme will not yield the expected results without the input of the former president.
He told Citi FM in an interview Tuesday that supporters want to see a strong cohesion between the party and the founder.
“…Most of us have been inspired by the founder of the party to do what we did in 2008 for the party to come into government…”
He urged party leaders to ensure Mr Rawlings was brought on board to contribute his quota to the success of the government.
