Lawyers for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) will later this morning file their written address after failing to meet Tuesday’s deadline by the Supreme Court. The court resumes sittings today after a two week break which was to enable the parties file their written addresses. Representatives of the petitioners, as well as those of President John Mahama and the Electoral Commission yesterday filed their addresses with the court’s registry. One of the spokespersons for the NDC legal Team, Kojoga Adanwudu told Joy News they have genuine reason for failing to meet the deadline. He said "the court will not just throw [our's] away and say we will not take your address. I don't think the court would do that". In an un related development, a circuit court will hear the case involving two suspected arsonists granted bail last week for their alleged involvement in the burning of both the Kantamanto and Makola Number 2 markets.
