Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ade Coker says the ruling party would annex more seats in Greater Accra in the December polls. He said the sterling performance of the Mills-led government in just three years in power “we will maintain our seats and add more to it”. Parliamentary primaries for the Greater Accra Region would be held on Saturday January 28 to elect candidates in the various constituencies. But there seem to be tension in areas where incumbent MPs are expected to face stiff competition. Notably amongst them are Nii Tackie Commey's Ododiodiodio, Kojo Adu Asare's Adentanr and Ledzokuku constituency where Nii Nortey Dua is the MP. Primaries would, however, not be held in Weija and Abokobi-Madina where there could be possible creation of new constituencies. However, the incumbent MP’s have vowed to give their challengers a run for their money predicting a landslide victory for themselves after vote count. Notwithstanding, Ade Coker on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, assured delegates, party executives and contestants that necessary arrangements have been made to ensure successful and peaceful primaries primaries on Saturday. He added that the primaries would be conducted in an atmosphere of peace and unity to ensure a free, fair and transparent election in the various constituencies in the Greater Accra Region. The Greater Accra Chairman entreated all contestants and their followers of the entire umbrella family to rally behind the elected aspirants for a united front in December. He reminded party members in the Greater Accra Region that victory for elected candidates symbolizes victory for the NDC in the party quest to win more seats to enable the NDC dominate even in the strong holds of the NPP. Ade Coker was optimistic that the NDC would win massively in the December polls especially in the Greater Accra Region.
