Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has been acclaimed as the presidential candidate of the Progressive Peoples Party.
The popular acclamation was done by constituency members of the party across the country.
This brings to four the number of presidential candidates elected or acclaimed by their respective political parties to take part in the December elections.
The New Patriotic Party elected Nana Akufo Addo late 2010 as the presidential candidate with the ruling government retaining President John Mills. The Peoples National Convention also elected Hassan Ayariga.
All candidates are however yet to receive official certification by the Electoral Commission.
The Convention Peoples Party- a party Dr. Nduom led as presidential candidate in the 2008 before his breakaway is yet to conduct its presidential primaries.
With his acclamation Nduom promised to conduct an issue based campaign devoid of insults and to tackle the real needs of Ghanaians which are education, health and employment for the youth.
