The Managing Editor of the Al-hajj newspaper, Alhaji Iddrisu Bature has attributed the problems of the Convention People’s Party to the indiscipline acts of its 2008 flagbearer, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom.According to him, Dr. Nduom has been indulging in unruly acts in the CPP which are undermining the development of the party. He described the CPP flagbearer aspirant as the “enemy of the party” who is using his monetary might to fight against the party leadership.Chairman of the Convention People’s Party, Samia Nkrumah, issued a stern warning to the party's 2008 flagbearer to desist from acts of indiscipline.According to her, Dr. Nduom is waging a relentless campaign to derail the party from its plans ahead of next year’s election. She told Joy FM that if these acts of indiscipline by the presidential hopeful continued, he would be expelled from the party and that the party would not tolerate his nonsense any longer.Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii-Sen on Tuesday, Alhaji Bature lauded Samia Nkrumah for standing against the acts of indiscipline exhibited by Dr. Nduom. He stressed that though Dr.Nduom is engaged in a lot of indiscipline acts in the party; his support to the party remains unflinching. ”I admire Nduom because he is a successful businessman who is a role model to a lot of youths in the country”.Alhaji Iddrisu Bature asserted that the 2008 flagbearer of the CPP has invariably demonstrated that he is a divisive leader. “After the 2000 elections, he abandoned the party and joined the NPP administration and declared himself as NPP”.He hinted that during in the 2004 elections, Dr. Nduom campaigned against the CPP and its candidate, George Aggudey which is an act of indiscipline.“You see since Nduom became the flagbearer of the party, he has exhibited gross indiscipline but due to his financial clout, no one has chastised him.
"Those who benefit from his largesse have kept quiet and even defend him”.According to Bature, after the Kumasi congress of the party in 2007 which elected him as the flagbearer for the first time, the CPP stalwart started becoming indisciplined and has continued till now. “He has been beating the party with his financial muscle”.Mr. Bature said the party with the new leadership wants to stop these acts of indiscipline in the party but Nduom with his money still wants to undermine them. “If you have money, put it in the party coffers and don’t use it against the leadership”.He asserted that the party has not yet opened nomination for the presidential primary but Dr. Nduom in a subtle manner has launched his campaign. Alhaji Bature commenting on the utterances of the party chairman, Samia Nkrumah, said to be disrespectful of Nduom, maintained that it is a bold step to getting the party rid of indiscipline. He said the CPP Chairman needs support and encouragement by the rank and file of the party rather than demoralization. “Samia is emulating what the NPP and the NDC have been doing to instill discipline in their party and she must be commended and hailed by all the party notwithstanding your position or might”.He said Ghana’s first president Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah will be happy in his grave because the daughter, Samia, is following his footsteps by flushing out indiscipline in the party. “I am happy for Samia because what Nkrumah stood up for is being emulated by his only daughter”.
