The presidential candidate of the Progressive People’s Party, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, will outdoor his running mate on Wednesday, September 12th, 2012 at the party’s headquarters in Accra. After months of search by a crack team of top party members, three distinguished personalities have been shortlisted. The PPP National Executive is however expected to hold an emergency meeting Tuesday, September 11th, 2012 to discuss and eventually settle on one of the three candidates. The search team was led by Mr. Ladi Nylander, an astute businessman and a member of the National Advisory Council of the PPP. Although the search took a bit of time, the quality and capabilities of those shortlisted clearly offer the team the satisfaction that after all, the tedious work was worth the effort. All three candidates are people who believe in the ideals and aspirations of the PPP and more especially that of the many innovative ideas that the party’s flag bearer is trying hard to introduce into the body-politic.Unfortunately the party has an unpleasant duty of picking just one person out of all three qualified and competent persons because that is the constitutional requirement. Nonetheless all three have promised their unflinching support to the person who eventually gets the nod to partner Dr. Nduom in this year’s election. It is the hope of the party that whoever emerges as the running mate to Dr. Nduom will be an excellent partner, who will complement him in many respects and will be accepted by the rank- and-file of the party and by extension Ghanaians.
