Discussions for a new daily minimum wage for workers in the public sector is expected to resume Tuesday afternoon.
Talks on the daily wage had stalled over the past weeks due to fears that government might not be able to meet the demands of organized labour.
However, a source close to organized labour says they have been able to secure government's commitment to resume the negotiations.
The source also adds that organized labour would be able to meet the May 1 deadline for finalizing the new daily minimum wage despite concerns by some workers’ unions.
Some workers are worried that discussions are not moving as planned, since the minimum wage should have been finalized by now to pave way for the base pay and the public sector wage negotiations.
