The campaign team of the Founder and Leader of the New Force Movement, Nana Kwame Bediako, suffered an attack in the Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency of the Greater Accra Region on Tuesday, November 26, resulting in one person being injured and two vehicles being damaged.
Reports say the media team and members of the campaign convoy of the New Force Movement were traumatized by the event, forcing the campaign to halt abruptly as some residents of the community blocked the campaign procession with stones.
It is unclear what led to the attack, but reports suggest that the youth of the community were dissatisfied with Nana Kwame Bediako and his team for campaigning in the area without first paying a courtesy visit to their chief.
As the situation worsened, the police were called in for protection and to restore order, yet the team members were anxious as they noticed the angry youth on motorbikes were even ready to strike despite the presence of the police.
The presidential candidate escaped unhurt, although the media personnel, traumatized by the event, were left shaken, with a UTV journalist reportedly withdrawing from coverage.
