A new domestic air carrier, Africa World Airlines is set to begin operations from July this year.
Managers of the airline say they have major plans to transform the environment for domestic air travel by introducing affordable services to the public.
The establishment is a private-sector joint venture between the SAS Finance Group, an integrated investment banking and financial advisory firm owned by Togbe Afede, and Chinese investment and technical partners.
Africa World Airlines received its air carrier license last Friday from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority.
General Manager of Strategic African Securities, Apiigy Afenyu works closely with the Africa World Airlines team.
He told Joy Business the new airline would run an all-jet service from Accra to Kumasi, Tamale and Takoradi.
He said the introduction of the service was in recognition of inadequate and extremely expensive services provided by the existing airlines.
