Health workers would receive new salaries by the end of October, Reverend Richard Kwasi Yeboah National Chairman of Health Services Workers Union (HSWU) announced at Tema on Friday.He did not give details but said, "a new salary structure for members would be implemented at the end of October".Rev. Yeboah was addressing a day's delegate's conference of the Greater Accra branch of the Union to climax a nationwide tour to interact with and collate views of members to strengthen worker-management relations.He said the new salary structure required members to show more commitment and dedication to duty, good behaviour and eschew indiscipline, laziness, drunkenness and lateness to work."We need to change our attitude and work to commensurate whatever we are going to receive," he added.Rev. Yeboah said plans were advanced to procure a piece of land in Brong Ahafo Region to undertake livestock production and the establishment of Consumer Credit shops to sell various items at subsidised prices for members.He advised members to upgrade their knowledge to meet the modern technological trends in health care delivery.Source: GNA
