Eighty students from the Awutu Senya West Constituency in the Central Region, have benefited from a scholarship scheme to enable them to continue with their tertiary education.
The scheme initiated by the Deputy Minister for Communication and MP for the area, George Andah, was initiated three years ago to help needy but brilliant students. The scheme has so far seen about two hundred people benefiting.
In a meeting over the weekend, the MP presented the cheques to the students.
Addressing the gathering, George Andah said the government will leave no stone unturned to ensure all are empowered through education to better their lives.
The gathering took place exactly one year after the ghastly incident that nearly took his life together with his team at Awutu-Loye.
Swirled up by emotions, the Communications Minister said he believes the narrow escape was by divine providence which has left him to ponder on the faithfulness of God.
Mr Andah thanked the constituents for their prayers and support even as he continues with his team to initiate people-centered projects to make their lives better. The Parliamentarian also spent time commiserating with some families who have lost dear ones.
