The weeklong anniversary celebration began last week Monday with a cleanup exercise through the principal streets of Kumasi by Management and staff of the hotel.

The team also engaged themselves with some exercises-aerobics as they geared up towards the other events earmarked for the celebration.

The next day witnessed a big float through the principal streets of Kumasi to mark the anniversary with the people of Kumasi.

Management and staff also donated blood to the Komfo Anokye blood bank. The Transfusion Medicine Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital led by Mr Benjamin Arhin, Snr. Blood Recruitment Officer was on hand to screen the staff before the exercise was carried out.

The General Manager of the Hotel, Mr Francis Alley Deyegbe in an interview with the media underscored the importance of celebrating 5 years of competing with top hospitality brands in the Kumasi metropolis. He described the journey as an exciting one, as the facility has excelled among its competitors as a hotel of choice.

Mr Deyegbe acknowledged the efforts of the entire staff especially pioneer members whose toil have maintained the quality service and urged them to continue with the hard work to augment a good return for the huge investment made in setting up the Golden Bean facility.

Marketing Manager of the hotel, Melchizedek Owusu Boachiewho spoke to the Press on the essence of the blood donation informed that the donation formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at saving lives. “We do not just provide quality services that put smiles on the faces of people but we believe giving blood to save a life is Godly since no amount of money can buy blood at a crucial moment. The wellbeing of people is paramount to us”.

Mr Owusu Boachie seized the occasion to assure patrons of the hotel to expect nothing but best of services as it surges forward after 5 years. “Kumasi is becoming more cosmopolitan so we’re designing our products and services like the ‘tailor-made’ to serve them better”.

Donation to charity

Donations to charity formed core part of the celebrations as the hotel visited an orphanage and mental homes to presented beddings and items including food and drinks to Remar Ghana, Kumasi Cheshire home and Cherubs orphanage all located in Kumasi.

Handing over the items, Mr Francis Alley Deyegbe, the General Manager observed that the hotel could not have celebrated the anniversary better than coming to the doorstep of the less privileged in the society who deserved to be happy just like the privileged. “This also formed part of our corporate social responsibility initiative. We are in the tourism sector and as a tourist, you should be welcoming and hospitable” he added.

The kids and inmates at the Remar Ghana orphanage home were full of joy as they savoured the chocolate, food and drinks made available to them.

Director of the Orphanage, Nana Opoku Ware thanked Golden Bean hotel for associating with the less privileged as it marks its 5th Anniversary. He urged other corporate entities and individuals to emulate the gesture.
