The Effutu MP has challenged the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to provide credible data on projects it claims to have accomplished during its eight years in government.

Alexander Afenyo Markin said merely mentioning names of projects without any data to back them is not enough.

"I am challenging the NDC that for their eight years, they should produce a single document that tells us that within the eight years, these were the number of projects they did. It's not just running your mouth," he said.

Speaking on Joy FM's Super Morning Show Thursday, he stated that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for purposes of fact-checking, has provided concrete evidence in the form of data, to back projects they mentioned at Tuesday's town hall meeting.

His comments come after some members of the NDC challenged projects labelled by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia as part of achievements of the NPP at the meeting.

While some including a former Deputy Information Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu have described the projects as mediocre, others like National Communications Officer for the NDC Sammy Gyamfi have accused the Vice President of crediting the NPP for NDC's projects.

Mr Markins, however, insisted that government has proved its efficiency by bringing out data to support projects mentioned at the town hall meeting and, therefore, wants the NDC to do some.

"The NDC had eight years; they introduced a green book in 2016 we went into an election, the figures that you have pointed out (figures captured in the Green Book).

"I'll be happy if these figures are made available for us to do your fact checks because you cannot come and be throwing out figures when there is no evidence," he added.
