Matthew 25, an HIV/AIDS Support Centre based in Koforidua, on Wednesday feted about 1,000 People living With HIV/AIDS (PLWA), suspects on remand and patients on admission at various hospitals in the New Juaben Municipality.
Others who were feted included the needy in the society, HIV/AIDS orphans and police personnel.
The Director of the centre, Father Bobby Benson, who led a team of Catholic faithful to share foods, drinks and other Christmas gifts to the people, said the gesture was to show love to the beneficiaries.
He said the centre realized the need to organize a "soup kitchen" every Christmas for such people so that they would feel loved and needed in the society.
Father Benson said many people in the society needed a little love and support, especially during Christmas and other festivities.
He urged Christians to "stretch their hands wide and respond to the needs of all those who need help."Source: GNA
