The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) led by the Chief Executive, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, has commissioned an ultramodern office complex to serve the people of the Adaklu-Anyigbe district in the Volta region.
Handing over the edifice to the Scheme, Dr. Okoe Boye emphasised the need to draw the services of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) closer to the people and reiterated the importance of operating in an enabling environment such as the newly commissioned office.
He charged staff and other stakeholders to show a consistent sense of maintenance in their usage of the facility.
He further expressed management’s resolve to ensure that all NHIA offices across the country have befitting office complexes to enhance their work and boost the corporate image of the NHIA.

Recounting the technological advancements that has contributed to the smooth running of the Scheme, the CEO lauded the introduction of the MyNHIS App into the NHIS operations, highlighting that its convenience and accessibility is unmatched.
He urged all smart phones users within the district to explore the usage of the App in their quest for NHIS services to register and renew.
Dr. Okoe Boye said the NHIA has advanced in its claims processing and payment systems.
He said the Authority has moved away from the days of over one year indebtedness to its current monthly disbursements to service providers.

He announced that the NHIA has paid claims up to August 2023, a sum in excess of GHS800 million in the last 90 days alone.
The Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, who was present at the commissioning, thanked the CEO, Executive Management and the Board of the NHIA for the fully furnished workspace, adding that the gains made by the Scheme in the past few years can be attributed to the resilience, hard work of staff and excellent show of leadership by Executive management.
He pledged his continuous support for the NHIA and urged all those who are yet to register for the NHIS to take advantage of the digital interventions and enrol onto the scheme.
The Volta Regional Director of NHIA, Mr. Joseph Homenya, expressed his gratitude to the CEO and his team for providing the staff in the region with an enabling environment and the necessary tools.
He indicated that his outfit is looking forward to the commissioning of the remaining three office complexes under construction in North Tongu, South Tongu, and Akatsi Districts.
In a related development, the CEO also presented four brand new Toyota Hilux pick-ups to 4 districts offices. The beneficiary offices were Ketu North, Adaklu-Anyigbe, South Dayi, and Kpando. Presenting the vehicles to the district managers, the CEO, and the Regional Minister charged the managers to take proper care of the vehicles and avoid using of the vehicles for unofficial purposes.
