Recent clashes between the people of Nkonya and Alavanyo in the Volta region is affecting education in the area.
Teaching and learning at Alavanyo in particular have been adversely affected as a result of the conflict.
The age-old fight resurfaced earlier this week when the two towns exchanged some gun fire.
Volta regional correspondent Mawuli Yevu-Agbi has been speaking with authorities of the Alavanyo Senior High school who say the situation has forced many teachers to report to school late.
Apart from the headmaster and senior housemaster who live in bumgalows in the school, the remaining teachers leave at Hohoe and commute daily.
Headmaster Joy Biney narrated he had take cover one to avoid being hit by stray bullet when gun violence between the feuding communities erupted.
Previous peace accords between the two sides have failed to hold.
Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP Peterking Yentumi has however, given assurance that the police are dealing with all security threats in the area.
