Leading mobile phone manufacturer, Nokia has unveiled Windows 8 smartphones Lumia 920 and 820 at a colorful ceremony in Accra.
The devices, regarded as the most innovative smartphones in the world, which come in a variety of colours are poised to give customers the best smartphone experience with it unique features like an inbuilt wireless charging system, Nokia’s new PureMotion HD Plus display, Nokia maps and City Lens to help users locate places by just holding up their devices.
Nokia Lumia Windows 8 smartphones also come with full-versions of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet Explorer 10 so you can create and edit Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word documents when you’re out and about, and browse easier and faster than ever with a 4G connection.
The Lumia 920 comes with the latest innovations in PureView technology comprising of floating lens technology that takes in five times more light than other smartphones to enable users capture sharp, crisp pictures and videos without a flash.
The estimated retail price for the Nokia Lumia 920 is GH¢1,275 and Lumia 820 is GH¢920 respectively.
Speaking at the launch, Vice President of Nokia West Africa, James Rutherfoord said the Nokia aims to satisfy the needs of business and non-business smart phone owners with its current and future range of Lumia devices.
“With the groundbreaking technology incorporated in these devices, we are giving our customers every reason to switch to Lumia”.
He indicated that the new Lumia Smartphone is designed with lots of wireless chargers to choose from -including the beautiful Nokia Wireless Charging Plate and the Charging Pillow by Fatboy.
James Rutherfoord noted that with a range of colours on offer users can pick anyone that suits them and also get new accessories like speakers and headsets to match.
“These are the best devices we have made in the smartphone category and we believe that this is going to be much appreciated by our customers. At Nokia our focus is to bring the very best technology to our customers which aid, excite and benefit their work and social lives” he added.
The Nokia West Africa Vice President said the Lumia 920 and 820 are ready for business since according to him it includes Office Suite, Sky Drive and Microsoft Lync.
James Rutherfoord observed that those who pre-order the Nokia 920 in December will enjoy 1GB data, 200 minutes and 400 SMS free for three months from MTN.
On his part, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo commended Nokia for introducing durable and innovative product to the Ghanaian market.
He said the launch of the innovative Lumia 920 and 820 is very timely at a time he says many Ghanaians are switching to smartphones.
Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo was convinced the new Nokia devices will be the best sellers on the markets.
