Popular Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot has crossed the first hurdle on his journey to become a representative for Surulere on the ticket of All Progressive Congress (APC).
After winning the primary on Tuesday, he will be contesting on the upcoming Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA) election in 2015.
Desmond defeated Mr. Kabiru Lawal to pick the ticket.
Meanwhile, another celebrity Kenny Saint Brown (KSB) who also contested in the primaries to represent Ikeja constituency at LAHA, lost to Mr. Folajimi Mohammed, son of National Publicity Secretary of APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Since his victory was announced, torrents of congratulatory messages have continued to pour in for the actor and he has responded by thanking God and his well-wishers for the feat.
In a message Wednesday morning, the ‘Weekend Getawa producer thanked people who voted for him, saying he is onto the next challenge and promising not to let his supporters down.
