A joint intelligence-led police operation has led to the arrest of a notorious 25-year-old armed robbery suspect, Seth Tetteh, popularly known as ‘Wonder.’
Tetteh, believed to be the ringleader of a robbery syndicate operating within Ashaiman and surrounding communities, was picked up on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
His arrest marks a major breakthrough for the Tema Police Command in its sustained fight against violent crime.
He was apprehended around 3:00 p.m. near the Ashaiman China Mall in a coordinated effort involving the Atadeka Police Patrol Team and the Ashaiman Police Intelligence Directorate.
Wonder is alleged to be a highly active criminal linked to multiple violent incidents, including residential, street, and industrial robberies.
Police say his capture is expected to significantly disrupt criminal operations that have been targeting residents and businesses across the municipality.
Investigations also revealed that he masterminded a recent armed robbery at a concrete yard factory. During that operation, he reportedly led a two-man gang on a motorbike, holding victims at gunpoint and making away with an unspecified amount of money.
Tetteh’s arrest follows the earlier capture of his two accomplices, who were identified by victims and are currently on remand, standing trial at the Ashaiman Circuit Court.
Following the detention of the gang leader, the Tema Police Command issued a strong warning to the public against purchasing stolen electronic devices, especially mobile phones often sold cheaply by criminal networks.
“Police is using this medium to caution receivers of stolen phones, as their arrest has legal consequences for dishonestly receiving,” the statement said.
The Command also expressed appreciation to its top hierarchy for their continued support toward operational successes.
