General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has revealed that the party has agreed to sign the Savelegu constituency results.
This comes after the party contested the final results because an Electoral Commission Officer voted twice.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Mr Boadu explained that in order to allow the transmission of the Northern Region result to the national collation centre to help the EC to declare the final results, the NPP will concede.
“After party officials thought of it, we came to a conclusion that the interest of the nation surpasses this incident. Therefore we don’t have to put the interest of the nation on hold because of this,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Attorney General, Godfred Odam hinted that, the NPP will contest the Savelugu results in court.
He said the signing of the pink sheet is only to help the EC proceed with its mandate.
