Assistant Constituency Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in North Tongu, Francis Lorlornyo Kwadzo-Ti has stated that the party is committed to ensuring the constituency reaches its full potential.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo-led government, over the past eight years, has made significant investments in key sectors such as health, education, water and sanitation, security, and the judiciary in the constituency.
In a press statement issued following a community-based assessment of the NPP’s performance in the constituency, conducted by the constituency executives, Mr Kwadzo-Ti outlined several areas the party has prioritised for the residents.
"The NPP has invested heavily in educational facilities across North Tongu, constructing new schools and upgrading existing ones to provide a better learning environment for our children. Market shades at Juapong and Battor have provided much-needed shelter for traders, enabling them to conduct their businesses in a more organised and comfortable environment," he said.
He also noted that the party has worked to improve telecommunication infrastructure and judiciary services.
"The extension of telecommunication services has vastly improved connectivity in North Tongu, supporting residents and businesses with enhanced access to communication and services. The NPP government has built modern court buildings in Battor and Juapong to ensure that residents have easy access to legal services and that the judicial process is streamlined for efficiency."
On access to potable water and healthcare, Mr Kwadzo-Ti stated: "The extension of water services ensures that more communities in North Tongu have access to clean, reliable water, improving public health and quality of life. The construction of the National Ambulance Service office complex in the district enhances emergency healthcare services, ensuring a swift and efficient response during medical emergencies."
Regarding social interventions, the secretary disclosed that the "National Health Insurance Scheme office building is near completion. This will improve the management and delivery of health services, allowing for easier access to healthcare for all North Tongu residents."
"Additionally, a business advisory centre office facility was recently completed to provide vital support to entrepreneurs and local businesses in North Tongu, helping to foster economic growth and job creation."
He also highlighted that "Investments in road infrastructure have improved connectivity across North Tongu, making travel easier and more efficient while boosting local trade."
On the government’s flagship Planting for Food and Jobs programme, Mr Kwadzo-Ti remarked: "This initiative has supported farmers in the region with essential inputs, boosting food production and food security."
"The programme is helping to promote cash crop farming, creating opportunities for farmers to generate income through exports. The Torgorme irrigation project is enabling farmers to cultivate crops year-round, ensuring consistent food production and increasing their incomes."
With these developments, the secretary believes that "The NPP remains committed to ensuring that North Tongu achieves its full potential. We call on all residents to join hands in supporting the party’s initiatives and to continue working together for a brighter future."
He concluded by stating: "These development efforts highlight the NPP's commitment to improving the living conditions of the people in North Tongu and creating opportunities for growth and prosperity."
"We are proud of the progress made, and we remain steadfast in our mission to continue these positive changes."
