Members supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) living abroad are optimistic that the party can recapture power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) come 2015 when Ghanaians elect a president.The Chairman of the Holland branch of the party, Kobby Annan said that external branches of the party would mobilize ideas and resources to implement joint programmes with the party's headquarters and constituencies to win the 2012 polls.He encouraged members of the external branches to dutifully contribute financially and morally to the cause of the NPP in order to ensure a resounding victory.Mr. Annan, who visited the offices of DAILY GUIDE, noted that he and other colleagues were embolden by meetings held between leaders of external branches and stakeholders of the party before and after the 2010 congress and would contribute to the attainment of this goal. Mr. Annan explained the essence of the NPP external branches and the role they play in the party's electoral campaigns, noting, "It is worth acknowledging that the peaceful organisation of the NPP Constitutional review conference at Accra Trade Fair site, election of National Executives officers in Kumasi, and the expansion of the electoral college for the flagbearship race contributed to" a successful presidential primaries."According to him, "These positive developments over the last couple of months encouraged us to believe that the NPP would strengthen the party's tics and cooperation with the external branches to effectively run the campaign."To effectively participate in the National Campaign, the external branches have resolved that they would be represented on the National Campaign Committees in order to contribute to the development and implementation of the campaign strategyThey would therefore make meaningful contributions to committees that work in areas such as manifesto and policy issues, research and data collation, communication, marketing & IT, voter education & election fraud prevention."Qualified members of the External Branches can help the party to train the local party officials, polling agents, election monitors and other volunteers."
