Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwamena Duncan, has said that the Woyomegate scandal will continuously hunt the President and his party until the whole truth is exposed and the perpetrators made to answer.President John Evans Mills, earlier indicated he had no idea about the payments of GHS 58 million judgment debt to businessman and National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart, Alfred Agbesi Woyome.However a report by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) – after investigations into the circumstances that led to the payment of the controversial judgment debt - revealed President Mills was aware and had on two occasions blocked payments to Mr Woyome.Contributing to discussions on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Wednesday, Mr Duncan said he could not reconcile the President’s statement with the EOCO findings. He questioned Mills’ motive of feigning innocence on a matter as important as this scandal.Kwamena took a swipe at the EOCO and its Executive Director, Mordey Akpadzi, saying the investigative body had totally failed Ghanaians in what he said were attempts by EOCO to massage the truth.He concurred with assertions by Editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako that the EOCO report is “shoddy and deficient and a poor attempt at political equalization.”But a leading member of the governing party and a public interest lawyer Sam Pee Yaley, counteracting the above claims, insisted the President indeed blocked the payment of the judgment debt and that the money got paid only after the court had ordered for it to be paid.“Kwamena can conjecture, can say anything but facts are sacred,” Sam said, adding that Mills had done all that was practically possible.
