The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is contemplating boycotting bills forwarded by the Mahama administration to Parliament for passage into laws. According to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NPP, it has scheduled a meeting Friday to decide the fate of the minority in the next parliament which would be sworn in January 7, 2013. Newly installed Deputy Minority Leader, Dominic Nitiwul, said the decision of NEC will be informed by the legal action the NPP has taken against the declaration of John Mahama as winner of the December poll. Dominic Nitiwul said NEC will decide whether to view any business brought before parliament from the executive as an illegality and boycott it as such. The opposition NPP has already stated their intention to boycott the swearing-in ceremony of John Mahama at the Independence Square on January 7 in support of the petition it filed at the Supreme Court contesting the declaration of John Mahama as president-elect.
