The opposition New Patriotic Party has said a meeting between three stalwarts of the party and the ruling Conservative Party in the UK should contribute significantly to its chances in the 2012 general elections.
The party’s presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, chairman Jake Obetsebi Lamptey and General Secretary Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, were in the UK at the invitation of the governing Conservative Party.
Director of International Affairs of the NPP, Charles Wiredu, told Joy News the meeting was a fruitful one.
He said the latest meeting precedes another one extended to Nana Addo in 2008 where the NPP flag-bearer addressed the Conservative Party’s conference.
Mr Wiredu said the NPP delegation met with the campaign manager of the Conservative Party and believes that the NPP will adopt some strategies for its political campaign in 2012.
