Two staunch members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the New Adubease constituency have gone to court to file an injunction on one of the party’s parliamentary aspirants in the constituency.
The two, Kofi Dankwa and Adansi Gyima filed the suit at a Kumasi High Court seeking the order for an interim injunction to restrain parliamentary aspirant Justice Asafo-Adjei from contesting the primaries slated for Thursday.
Lawyer for the plaintiffs will be moving the motion in court on Wednesday.
According to Joy News reports, an affidavit supporting the claims by the two said Asafo-Adjei does not live in the constituency and if he is allowed to contest the elections he would be flouting the party’s constitution.
