Despite attempts by the New Patriotic Party to stop the Electoral Commission from including the controversial 45 new constituencies in this year’s elections, its MP aspirants are campaigning actively for votes.Posters of candidates are visible in the areas and others are doing radio interviews to market themselves. The NPP has argued there are flaws in the Constitutional Instrument currently before Parliament and the Supreme Court is expected to make a ruling on Wednesday on the application for an interim injunction to prevent Parliament from sitting on it.But Central regional correspondent, Richard Kwadjo Nyarko found that former MP for Cape Coast, Christine Churcher is one of those going ahead with campaigning for the new Cape Coast North constituency seat.He said two NPP constituency offices have been outdoored at the Cape Coast North constituency, adding campaign has started in earnest with several news conferences being conducted to have Christine Churcher contest in the elections. There are similar reports in the Western region. In the Wassa East for example, posters of the Chief Executive of the Skyy Media Group, Wilson Arthur has been spotted in several communities. But Ebenezer Afenyi Dadzie reported much of the campaign has so far been on the quiet. The story is however different in the Upper West region where only one additional constituency has been created.Correspondent Rafik Salam reported that party supporters are most likely to popularly acclaim Deputy Minority Leader, Ambrose Derry whose Lawra/Nandom constituency has been split into two as the party's candidate.
