The National Youth Wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has organised a mentorship forum for young people.
The event, which took place last Thursday on the UPSA campus, attracted over a 1000 participants.
The youth wing, led by Salam Mustapha, initiated the programme to reach out to the teeming youth and student bodies in the country.

Addressing the participants, Mr. Mustapha said the mentorship programme also seeks to recruit, train and educate young minds for the party.
According to him, the NPP has the oldest political tradition in the country and is pro-youth.
He used the platform to urge the participants to share the knowledge gathered at the program with friends and colleagues who could not attend the event.

"The NPP has a lot to offer the youth. It is no wonder we have the largest number and support when you tour the various campuses. Our policies and initiatives have always been geared towards creating a better country for the next generation.
"We have the track record and it is easy to demonstrate how policies like the Free SHS and YouStart have benefitted Ghanaians especially, the youth," he explained.

Other resource personnel were available to take the participants through a number of topics.

Some notable dignitaries who spoke at the event were the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and MP for Damango, Samuel Abu Jinapor, and the Director-General of the National Lottery Authority, Sammi Awuku.
Also in attendance was the National Chairman of the party, Stephen Ayensu Ntim and other national executives.

The participants expressed satisfaction with the concept and encouraged the national youth wing to regularise such mentorship programmes.
