A delegate in the Weija Gbawe constituency, who is also a polling station chairman, says he will vote against the incumbent MP, Tina Mensah after eating the food and water she provided.
He claimed that he voted for Mrs. Mensah in the past elections, but she failed to deliver on her promises once elected.
“We voted for her in 2016 and 2020. We worked for her but when she came into power, what did she do for us,” he said.
According to the delegate, there were 110 people in the electoral area but the Weija Gbawe MP selected only 27 people and gave them GH₵2,000 each, leaving the others.
The polling station chairman emphasised that Mr. Ahmed, who is contesting Mrs. Mensah, should be elected based on the work he has done for the community.
“I have eaten her food but I am now going to vote. I will surely vote against her. I am going to vote against my MP,” he said.
The delegate revealed that last year, he was a victim of the Akosombo dam spillage, stressing that Mrs. Mensah did not offer any support in the aftermath of the spillage, but Mr. Ahmed immediately assisted.
