The Eastern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Yaw Gyekye Amoabeng and the Regional Secretary, Mr Alecs Agobo, were on Tuesday defeated at the party's regional delegates' conference held in Koforidua.
Mr Amoabeng polled 88 votes to lose his position to Dr Samuel Annor who had 196 votes to become the new Eastern Regional Chairman of the party for the next four years.
The man tipped to win the chairmanship, Mr Kofi Asare Lartey, the former Fanteakwa Constituency Chairman of the party, polled 159 while Mr Kweku Ansah-Asare had 54 votes.
Prince Aboagye got 364 votes to become the new Eastern Regional Secretary of the party while Martin Ameyaw had 92 votes with Mr Agobo getting 52 votes.
Alhaji Umar Abbas Bodinga polled 308 votes to defeat Mr Christian Kofi Tetteh who had 193 votes to become the First Vice-Chairman of the party.
Madam Afua Kyerewa Nyantekyi polled 244 votes to become the second Regional Vice-chairman while Madam Mercy Amu Darko polled 170, Mr Nicholas Addai polled 55 and Mr Adumado Nyarko also polled 29.
