The National Service Scheme (NSS) has donated assorted food items from its agricultural projects to the staff and inmates of the Pantang Hospital in Accra.
The Scheme donated 100 bags of maize, 250 kilograms of chicken and 30 crates of eggs to help provide for the hospital's nutritional need.
The Greater Accra Regional Director for NSS, Nana Diasempa led a team of officials of the Scheme to make the donations on behalf of the Executive Director, Mr. Vincent S. Kuagbenu at the premises of the hospital in Accra.
Nana Diasempa, in a short address stated that the gesture was borne out of the Scheme's sense of corporate responsibility in supporting distressed hospitals.
He said the Scheme is poised to play its role in the development challenges that faces this country.
The team was received by the Specialist Physician, Dr. Frank Baning, the Administrator of the hospital, Mr. Charles Yaw Adjei and other staff of the hospital.
He thanked the NSS for their timely intervention.
He stated that, this gesture by NSS would go a long way to foster good relations between the Scheme and the Hospital.
