Madam Eva Agbodo Saku, a public health nurse, has appealed to transport unions in the Nkoranza District to assist in carrying patients with referral cases from Busunya Health Centre to St. Theresa Catholic Hospital at Nkoranza.
Madam Saku, who is in-charge of the reproductive and child health care services made the appeal when she presented her half year report at a review meeting attended by about 30 health workers in the district.
She complained that the only one pick-up vehicle assigned to the District Health Directorate could not serve all the health facilities in the area.
Madam Saku said lack of funds was also another challenge that faced the health workers as they were unable to reach all the people in the hinterland.
She said out of the 851 people tested for HIV/AIDS, 32 persons proved positive.
