Fourteen healthcare attendants being laid off in a hospitals in Accra for possessing unauthorized certificates are threatening a legal action against their training school.A major hospital in the capital is laying off 14 of its health care attendants.Authorities at the hospital say the attendants did not have approved certificates from the Nurses and Midwifery Council.The students are graduates from the Kings Health College in Kasoa. They have been trained to assist nurses in the hospital.A senior nurse at the hospital who spoke on condition of anonymity told JOY FM the hospital found the attendants did not have the requisite qualification a few weeks ago.She explains the hospital engaged the services of the attendants after internship with assurance from the school their certificates would be delivered later.They told Joy FM’s Sammy Darko they were coned by the proprietress of the school and would resort to a legal action for seek redress.Source: Joy News
