The Nyaho Medical Centre has launched its 45th Anniversary celebration with the commissioning of a new Integrated Hospital Information System to ensure that patients waiting time is considerably reduced.
The launch was also used to commission other projects, including the expansion works of the Out Patient's Department, a renovated theatre, a new radiology equipment, including 16-CT scan and C-arm for arm surgery.
Speaking at the launch, Deputy Health Minister Dr Victor Bampoe, tasked management of the hospital to use the occasion to reassert its position as pace-setters in the quest for equity in health care delivery.
He said the hospital’s acquisition of the new system to integrate all processes on a single platform and the purchase of the new CT-scan, establishes the fact that as a private medical facility, the Centre continues to be a leader in the health sector.
The Deputy Minister said medical practice in recent times has assumed a new dimension with the introduction of modern infrastructure to improve patients’ experience and commended management of the Centre for the acquisition of the equipment.
Dr Bampoe urged management to make the hospital a Centre of excellence for other health facilities, both private and public to emulate.
Managing Director of the Centre, Dr Elikem Tamaklo, said the principle of patient centered care was the driving factor for the investments in the equipment and expansion projects.
He added that, the hospital has invested in new technology to assist in accurate and timely diagnosis.
He said the Centre would continue to provide satisfactory client-centered group medical practice in the country and the sub-region.
He said the anniversary would further provide management an opportunity to take stock of its assets, capacities, opportunities and challenges.
The three-month anniversary celebration will have the Dr K.N Tamaklo memorial lecture and symposium, Health Screening, Blood donation, Health walk and Family Fun Day, client's appreciation cocktail, staff recognition Awards dinner and thanksgiving service.
The anniversary will be celebrated on theme "Nyaho at 45, celebrating our past, inspiring our future".
