The Obuasi constituency office of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been closed down.
This follows what the landlord who is also Chairman of the Council of Elders of the party in the constituency describes as a deliberate disregard for the party’s constitution.
Boadi Mensah will not give further details about which aspect of the party’s constitution has been breached but his action seem to be in protest against a decision to allow some ineligible delegates from Obuasi to vote in the Ashanti Regional congress of the party.
Meanwhile the Obuasi constituency executives of the NPP have been meeting with Mr. Boadi Mensah and are hopeful the issue will be resolved.
