A deer had to be rescued by firefighters after getting its antlers tangled in a rope swing hanging from a tree.
The unhappy male fallow deer got trapped after wandering into the backgarden of a house in Hook, Hampshire.
Terrified, it only made the situation even more knotty as it attempted to free itself from the hanging rope.
Firefighters were called in to help free the distressed animal, which called for a little bit of ingenuity.
First, watch manager Anton Phillips dressed in protective body armour before using a long pole to cover the animal's eyes with a towel in an attempt to calm it down.
Then. an RSPCA inspector cut the rope as Mr Phillips and another animal rescue specialist held onto one antler each.
Once it was freed, and without a backward glance, the uninjured deer turn tail and fled into nearby woodland with only its pride damaged.
Mr Phillips said: "This was a very difficult scenario to deal with and to an untrained person this could have been extremely dangerous.
"Once released, the deer regained composure and sped off into the adjoining field."
The rope swing has now been cut down to prevent other wild animals becoming entangled.
