Okaikwei North MP, Madam Theresa Lardi Awuni on Sunday, April 16, organised the first-ever Iftar programme (breaking off the fast together) in the constituency.
The event had an overwhelming turnout as it was attended by various dignitaries, including Muslim clerics, Imams, the Deputy National Women Organiser, the Greater Accra Deputy Regional Women Organiser, both of the NDC, former government appointees, constituency executives, branch executives, and NDC faithful.
The programme commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the collective breaking of the fast with fruits and water.

The event was marked by a sense of camaraderie and inclusivity, as people from diverse backgrounds came together to observe this important religious practice under the leadership of the NDC.
The Iftar programme served as a platform for political leaders, community members, and NDC-affiliated leaders to interact and foster closer relationships.

It provided an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and discussions on issues of concern to the constituents, in line with the NDC's commitment to engaging with the community.
The impressive turnout of the Iftar programme in Okaikwei North Constituency, is part of efforts in promoting unity and interfaith harmony within the constituency.

She indicated that the event exemplifies the NDC's commitment to fostering unity, understanding, and peaceful coexistence among different religious and cultural groups in the constituency.
The successful organisation of the Iftar programme by the MP, with the support of constituency executives, was met with enthusiasm from the Muslim community, showcasing the strong support and engagement of constituents with the NDC's initiatives.
