One person is reported dead and another in critical condition in Alavanyo in the Volta region after they were shot by unidentified assailants.
The victims were shot while working on their farms Friday.
There are claims the gunmen may be from rival town Nkonya but Joy News cannot immediately confirm that.
Volta Regional correspondent Mawuli Yevu Agbi named the deceased person only as Yakubu.
He says the details of the attack are sketchy and the police have gone to scene to ascertain the situation.
Alvanyo is a hotbed for protracted ethnic violence between the Nkonya and Alavanyo residents.
It is not clear if Friday's attack has any ethnic connotation.
