One person has been found dead, with over 500 others displaced at Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region, after a downpour.
Over 300 houses have also been submerged, and several properties destroyed.
The victim, believed to be in his early thirties, met his untimely death while crossing a wooden bridge on the Okrudu River.
Reports indicate the deceased was washed away by the floodwaters, along with the wooden bridge on the river.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Seth Banini, confirmed the incident to Adom News while expressing condolences to the bereaved family.
The body has been retrieved and deposited at the Police Hospital, while investigations are ongoing to identify his family members.
The Municipal NADMO Director, Nash Nyandey, revealed that several structures blocking waterways have worsened flood conditions in the area.
