The Ghana Police Service has arrested one person in connection with a shooting incident that occurred at Bereku in the Central Region during the Awubia Festival.
The incident, which took place on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, resulted in one person being injured.
According to a police statement, the suspect, identified as Nai Akwasi Lartey, was reportedly wielding a pump-action gun when he fired shots, injuring a festival attendee. The victim was promptly taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Following the incident, the police successfully retrieved the pump-action gun along with some BB cartridges from the suspect.

"Nai Akwasi Lartey is currently in police custody, where he is assisting with the ongoing investigation," it added.
