Origin8 Saatchi & Saatchi, one of Ghana’s top advertising agencies, came out tops at the 7th Gong-Gong Awards capturing ten awards.
The awards ceremony which was held on Saturday May 2nd, 2009 at the International Conference Centre saw the participation of several advertising companies picking awards in various categories.
Origin8 Saatchi & Saatchi scooped four (4) gold Gong-Gongs, the highest number of gold trophies won by any agency this year. They also took home five (5) silver awards.
In addition to gold and silver awards, three Platinum Gong-Gongs were presented to the highest scoring adverts in each media category: television, radio and print.
Origin8 Saatchi & Saatchi went home with the Platinum award for the Best of the Best Television advert, sealing their position as top winners of the occasion.
Chief Executive Officer of Orgin8 Saatchi & Saatchi, Joel E. Nettey, said clients of the company are the best people to dedicate the awards to.

Speaking on the next step for Origin8 Saatchi & Saatchi, Mr. Nettey who is also an Executive Council member of the Advertising Association of Ghana, commented that staying on top is a greater challenge than getting there, adding, “We will not rest on our laurels, but we will use this as a booster to drive us to even greater successes.”
The Gong-Gong awards are Ghana’s local industry awards for the Advertising and Marketing Communications Agencies in Ghana. They were instituted by the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG), the Industry Body and Professional Institute for Ghana’s thriving advertising and marketing communications businesses.
