Osu Stool Secretary, Nii Okwei Nortey, has denied rumours that Nii Nortey Owuo III, Osu Manste, had a hand in the demolition Osu Traditional Council’s offices at North Ridge.
"We are not the invisible hand and we are not responsible for the problem," he said in an interview in Accra.
Mr. Nortey said it was a shame that that, the chieftaincy dispute which had been settled by the Appeals and Supreme courts in favour of Nii Nortey Owuo III had been "overstretched".
The demolition, which was carried out by the Lands Commission and armed policemen last Thursday saw office equipment including computers, furniture and air conditioners being destroyed.
Meanwhile, the Nii Kinka Dowuona faction of the Osu chieftaincy dispute has demonstrated against the demolition and cut the sod for the commencement of a multi-purpose office building to house the Traditional Council.
