Board chairman of the National Sports Authority, Seth Panwum has called for the immediate sacking of Ghana coach Otto Addo.
He made the comments in the wake of Ghana's 2-1 loss to Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.
While Monday's defeat, a first at the Accra Sports Stadium in sixteen years was disappointing, Ghana's failure to qualify for next year's tournament was the bigger issue.
Speaking to Angel FM, Seth Panwum said “Otto Addo must be sacked because he was given a performance contract and he has failed to perform.”
Monday's defeat means for the first time in the country's history, Ghana had completed an AFCON qualifying series without a win.
The four-time AFCON winners finished bottom of Group F with just three points.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association's Executive Council will review the team's dismal performance in the qualifiers on Wednesday.
There are no indications that Otto Addo will be sacked at Wednesday's meeting.
