Over 30,000 new tents have been provided at the holy sites for pilgrims undertaking this year's pilgrimage to the Saudi Kingdom.
Many more tents will also be supplied as and when they are needed.
The Civil Defence has therefore launched a three-pronged strategy to keep the pilgrims safe from fire, rainfall and other natural disasters at the holy sites Sulaiman Al-Omar, Senior Official in-charge of Hajj Affairs said steps have been taken to prevent any fire outbreaks in the holy sites and in case of an emergency situation, arrangements have been made to contain any damage or stampede.
He said fire-fighting equipment have been placed on roads, bridges and at residences of pilgrims in Mecca.
"We have provided alarm systems, automatic splash, scouts in camps and emergency exits points in the holy sites, he added.
