Over 400 New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the Agona West Constituency of the Central Region have openly declared their support for Dr Bryan Acheampong ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.
According to the delegates, Dr Acheampong stands out as a unifier compared to the other aspirants and is the only candidate capable of securing victory for the NPP in the 2028 general election.
Some of them explained that while they supported Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong in previous primaries, they now believe Dr Acheampong is the strongest candidate among all contenders.

Addressing a press conference at Agona Swedru, the leader of the Concerned NPP Delegates and Agona Youth for Victory, Ebenezer Donkoh, described Dr Acheampong as a unique candidate who could unite the party and lead it to victory in 2028.
“The party is at a crossroads, and the direction we must follow is the path that leads to unity and victory,” Mr Donkoh said.

He stressed that Dr Acheampong’s leadership style makes him capable of bringing peace and cohesion to the party, and therefore urged all delegates to rally behind him in the upcoming primaries.
The Agona West NPP delegates further indicated that the party needs a strong and decisive leader who will embrace all members, promote discipline and justice, and not create tension or division.

According to them, they do not want a leader who will form factions within the party for personal benefit.
Meanwhile, the delegates appealed to their colleagues across the country to also support Dr Acheampong to lead the NPP into the 2028 general election.
