Defender John Paintsil says the Black Stars will be counting on African support in their crucial World Cup quarter final clash against Uruguay on Friday.
Ghana is the only African country left at the World Cup and will thus carry the continent’s hopes on her shoulders.
Confidence is brewing in the Black Stars camp, despite injury concerns that have plagued the team ahead of Friday’s match.
Kevin Prince Boateng and Hans Adu Sarpei are yet to return to training after missing yesterday’s team training session. John Mensah sat out of the drill but has promised to be fit for the match.
The Black Stars will become the first African country to progress to the semi final stage in the tournament’s history if they beat their South American counterparts.
John Paintsil in an interview with Supersports called for maximum concentration as they seek a historic semi final berth.
