Parliament on Friday was unable to pass the Veterans Administration Bill 2010 which is still at its consideration stage.
Sub-clause (1), paragraph (b) of the amendment proposed by the committee set to handle the case which suggested the chairman should not be below the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel or its equivalent,
generated the debate in the house with members proposing that junior staff be given the chance too.
According to them, the senior staff will not face the challenges a junior staff might encounter therefore the decision should be left for the members to decide.
Debate on the bill will resume on Monday March 12, 2012.
