The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Church Ghana, Rev. Dr. Paul Frimpong-Manso is asking politicians to treat with contempt prophecies they have received from some pastors about the November elections.
Head pastor of Glorious Word Empowerment Ministry International, Rev.Isaac Owusu Bempah on Monday said that he will burn his Bible if President Mahama retains his seat as head of state of the country.
However, Rev. Frimpong-Manso says politicians must disregard such prophecies.
"A pastor's job is not to prophesy who will win or lose elections. Our job is to preach the good news and preach Christ and should the Lord reveal something to you it is not meant dot public consumption," he said.
Rev. Dr. Frimpong-Manso has charged all stakeholders int he upcoming November polls to be circumspect especially the Electoral Commission (EC).
According to him, politicians and other stakeholders must ensure the November polls are free from violence because elections are not meant to be a "do and die" affair.
He was speaking on the sidelines of the sod-cutting ceremony for the commencement of six-storey building which will be the general headquarters of the Assemblies of God Church in Accra Wednesday.
