The country’s biggest Licensed Cocoa Buyer, PBC is hopeful of exporting shea nut to Brazil by August despite the initial delay.
PBC last month begun processing sheanut at its factory in Buipe, Northern Region.
The factory which has a production-capacity of 40 thousand tonnes per year is projected to generate over 30 million dollars.
Deputy Managing Director, George Boateng has been updating JOYBUSINESS on the initiative.
“Because we’ve not established the laboratory analysis, we are also unable to determine the specific selling price. And so we’ve held on to the marketing and sale arrangements with the Brazilians” he said.
Mr. Boateng adds the company regrets the initial delay in exporting the commodity
“The issue here is PBC has locked its capital in PBC Shea because we should have been selling by now for PBC Shea to start paying PBC itself” he added.
The cocoa purchasing company currently has about 38 percent market share and officials believe the move will enhance its fortunes.
