The Private Enterprise Foundation has cautiously welcomed the improvement in Ghana’s ranking in the list of countries where the environment for doing business is good.Ghana, according to the latest ranking, has moved up 10 places from 77 to 67.The 2011 World Bank/IMF Doing Business report ranks 183 economies around the world that have improved the environment for local businesses especially to thrive.Though PEF said this is good, it told Joy Business the cost of credit remains a challenge to businesses. The Executive Director of PEF, Dr. Osei Boeh-Ocansey said the major concern of businesses was interest rates which he described as too high.He said a reduction in the cost of credit will widen access to credit and that will further improve the business environment in the country.Source: Joy Business/Ghana
